RIDE ROUTE 66 please scroll down

Join us as we help celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair. Our host hotel,
The Inn at the Park , is located adjacent to Forest Park, site of the World’s Fair.
On Friday after picking up your packet, jump on your bike and take a tour of Forest Park on the bike path running around and through the park or just take a leisurely walk to the “Central West End” of Saint Louis. Home to many restaurants and shops. Or just simply enjoy some ice cream , renew old friendships and make new ones in our hospitality room.
Saturday our ride will begin with a mass start at 9am. We will ride to downtown Saint Louis, home of the Arch. There we will pick up the riverfront trail and ride to the historic Chain of Rocks Bridge, cross the mighty Mississippi and we will soon be in the flat country of Illinois. There will be three route options available. Lunch will be in Edwardsville, IL and the ride will loop off from there eventually returning to cross the Mississippi and back to our  host hotel. After the ride if you wish take a short ride on the Metrolink to
Historic Union Station, the main railroad terminal in bygone days now restored and converted into shops, restaurants, and a hotel, the Arch or one of our casino’s if you care to try your luck. If you care to explore the many sites in Forest Park the hotel is offering a free shuttle service to the many locations of interest in the park. Saturday evening we will have our banquet with attendance prizes and some special surprises.
Sunday we head west over city streets for a short ride before returning to the hotel to say our goodbyes until the next ride. At late checkout at the  hotel has been arranged for us on Sunday to allow us to get our ride in and still shower before driving home.

The weather in St. Louis this time of year tends to call for highs in the upper 70's to mid 80's with lows at night in the upper 50's to low 60's. It should be good riding weather.

Steel Legs Century
August 7th 2004

Are you ready to challenge yourself? If so then come join us as we put on our Steel Legs Century. This century is very challenging with many hills and since it is held in August there is bound to be some heat. Our ride will begin with a mass start at CMS Communications, 715 Goddard Chesterfield, MO. Then it is on to the hills. Lunch will be in Labadie, MO. Labadie will also serve as the gate.  In other words the gate is where the century option will close to all riders not at that point before noon. If you are not at the gate before it closes you must ride the shorter of the two routes. Failure to arrive at the gate one hour after it closes will result in you being swept off of the route. Registration is $15.00 before June 15th. $20.00 after June 15th  and before July 15th . There is no day of event registration.  Registration includes a map, marked route, sag support and lunch. This is a timed event. Your time will begin with the mass start at 6:30am and end when you check in with a ride official back at the starting point. Please be courteous and check in upon returning even if you don’t want to be timed so we will know if all riders are off of the route. Times will be posted on the website as soon as possible after the ride. www.route66rides.com
